Verify the legal entity, permissions and contact details independently.
Start outside the sales page
Write down the exact company name, registration details and website address that a provider supplies. Use the relevant regulator's own register and warning lists to compare them. Similar names and copied registration numbers can be misleading; a matching name alone does not settle the question.
Check the scope
A company registration, a payment-service permission and an investment-service permission describe different things. Confirm what activity the record actually covers and whether it applies to the product and location involved. Do not infer an exchange affiliation from a logo or a statement on an archived page.
Use independently sourced contact details
If you need clarification, use the contact information on the regulator's record or another independently verified source. Keep a copy of the agreement and any statements you are relying on. Stop if the entity in the contract differs from the one you checked.
